Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data is collected when you visit santiagomeza.com (the "site"), what it is used for and what rights you have over it. The site is informational: it has no forms, sells no products and never asks you to sign up or leave your contact details.

1. Data controller

2. What data is collected

• Browsing data (Google Analytics 4): pages visited, time on site, scrolling, clicks on external links, referring site or campaign, device type and browser, language and approximate location (country and city), derived from the IP address. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
• Server logs: the hosting provider (Hostinger) technically records the IP address, date and time, requested page and browser, for the site's security and operation.
• Language preference: if you choose Spanish or English with the language switcher, that choice is stored in your browser.

The site does not collect your name, email, phone number or any other data that directly identifies you.

3. What it is used for

• Understanding how many people visit the site, what content interests them and where they come from, in order to improve it.
• Keeping the site secure and running.
• Remembering the language you chose.

The data is not used for advertising, no individual profiles are created, and it is never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.

If you visit from the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google Analytics runs without cookies: it only sends anonymous signals, with no identifiers.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or opt out of Google Analytics on every site with Google's opt-out browser add-on. The site will keep working the same way.

5. Legal basis

Processing is based on the legitimate interest of understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used and, where the law requires it, on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by blocking cookies. This policy is governed by Colombia's Law 1581 of 2012 and Decree 1377 of 2013, and follows the principles of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for visitors from that region.

6. Third parties and international transfers

• Google LLC (Google Analytics), which processes browsing data as a data processor, possibly on servers outside your country, such as in the United States. See its privacy policy.
• Hostinger, the site's hosting provider.
• LinkedIn and YouTube: the site only links to these platforms; it does not embed their buttons or players. When you click, you leave the site and their own policies apply.

7. How long data is kept

• Google Analytics data: up to 14 months, after which it is deleted automatically.
• Server logs: for the hosting provider's technical retention periods.
• Language cookie: 1 year.

8. Your rights

You can access, update, correct and delete your data, object to its processing and withdraw your consent. Since the site does not collect data that directly identifies you, the most effective way to exercise these rights is to block or delete cookies. For any request or question, message me on LinkedIn; I will respond within the time limits set by law. If you believe your rights were not respected, you can contact Colombia's Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) or the data protection authority in your country.

9. Children

The site is not directed at children under 18 and does not knowingly collect their data.

10. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated. The date of the latest version appears at the top of the page.
